Babies
and Young Children
Helps with:
- Bonding - Dads too
- Setting your child up for a lifetime of safe, respectful, meaningful interactions
- General immune health of baby
- Specific digestive health (if specific abdominal massage is performed)
- And more.
And it feels great for both receiver and giver!
- Touch is the first sense to be developed by babies. Their world is full of sensing, feeling and touching, beginning in the womb.
- Research studies have shown that babies who are touched and stroked sleep better, are less fractious and suffer less from colic.
- Premature babies gain weight more quickly and tend to lose their anti-touch behaviours when they are massaged regularly (Field, et. Al 1986).
- Without loving touch, babies may not thrive and, in fact, may not survive.
